Well, the fun doesn't stop here. On we go to the next event:

The Christening. This actually is supposed to be about me; in fact, it's a whole bunch of people in a strange place, and I have to where another goofy hat again. This time, I get water poured over my head (this is not a bath!), and everybody takes lots of pictures. The same crew shows up for this event as well. I'm beginning to think this crew is pretty much what I'm going to have to deal with for the rest of my life. Better get used to them.

Notice the manic smiles on the faces of Mom and Dad; they seem to be enjoying this; of course, nobody asked me if I was having a good time ...

Now this is a huge surprise. Did you know there's other food in the world besides milk? Well, I didn't know that until Mom starts putting this "cereal" stuff in my mouth. As you can see, I'm pretty unclear as to what to do with it. Eventually, I get with the program and discover that this works really well ... except for vegetables. My Mom seems to think eating carrots, broccoli, and stuff is cool; I think it sucks. And I rule! So I just spit it out whenever she shovels it in.

Grandad seems to agree; I think he's secretly rooting for me to reject the veggies.

Next thing I know, they put me on an airplane and we're off to someplace called "Colorado" (farther than Philadelphia). Lots of outdoor stuff, which I like big time. This is Mom, with me in a frontpack, which I am enjoying majorly (eat your hearts out, guys). We are taking a walk along a Colorado trail in June, and it can't be beat.

Still in Colorado; this is Dad propping me up on a trail rail. I could easily get used to this. However, we are still into the goofy hat program; I'm seeing a very disturbing trend here.

Now this pic cries out for an explanation! This is me and my Dad in Colorado, about to hike along a high trail in Rocky Mountain National Park around 10,000 feet. Note that both of us are wearing goofy hats; in fact, Dad's is even goofier than mine! Is this a genetic trait? Nature vs. Nurture? Who knows? Especially when you're sucking air with hardly any oxygen (I'm from New Jersey, remember?) it's hard to stay focused on these deep philosophical questions.
