My Favorite Restaurants: (May of these courtesy of Freda)
Shanghai:
- South Beauty (Qiao Jiang Nan). Si Chuan style restaurant, known for the high end deco, good services, and of course, yummy food, with chain restuarants over major cities in China. I like the one on Tao Jiang Road of Shanghai the best.
Philadelphia:
- Four Rivers. Excellent Chinese food, their Shanghai Wuxi Spare Ribs is a must try! If you like HOT, there are plenty of authentic Chinese dishes to choose from.
- Szechuan Tasty House (Fu Chuan Wei). What a cheesy name! Food is serious business though. Nice homey atmosphere, even with satellite TV broadcasting all major Chinese channels!
- Le Bus at Manayunk. Nice restaurant with very interesting brunch menu on weekends. Great to dine outside in Spring or Fall. Bread is also good!
- Pod on Penn's Campus. Cool restaurant with a nice sushi bar, reasonably priced lunch menu.
- Le Petit Mitron. The best patisserie in town!
- Han Dynasty (Xin Chuan Yue). The recently discovered great Sichuan/Chongqing (spicy Chinese) restaurant in Exton, worth the drive!
- Han Dynasty (Xin Chuan Yue) at Royersford. The new new restaurant opened by the owner of Exton Han Dynasty. One exit before Philadelphia Premium Mall. Equally delicious food, with even better decoration!
New York:
- John's Pizza of Bleecker Street. The yummiest pizza I have ever had. Service is close to non-existing, but who can say no to the crispy steamy hot pizza!
- Ali Baba Turkish Restaurant. Good deal lunch menu, love their fresh bread (like Cong(1) You(2) Bing(3)).
- Joe's Shanghai. Service is crappy, and credit cards are not accepted. Usually need to wait in line on weekends so that you can share a table probably with five other strangers. Still, they have the most delicious soup dumplings ever, I mean, even better than most of the ones in Shanghai!
- Tang Pavilion. Very pleasant restaurant with delicate Shanghai style food. Good alternative for soup dumplings if you don't want to suffer the pain from Joe's Shanghai.
Europe:
- Cafe Drechsler My Cafe!
- Bastionen Loven Pricy, but very cute brunch place at Christianshavns of Copenhagen, Denmark.
